Turkestan Tit (Parus bokharensis)

Turkestan tits were only recorded at Chokpak where they were common and often found in mixed flocks with the scarcer yellow-breasted tits.

Turkestan tits hybridise with great tits and the majority of birds seen showed a degree of mixed parentage with some showing only the slightest hint of yellow whereas others looked very much like great tits.

A total of 11 Turkestan tits (or hybrids) were ringed at Chokpak.
